Speaking from a place of personal experience, you will lose A LOT of money as an entrepreneur. You will have wins, but you will mostly have pains and losses, especially within the first couple of years. Unless you are the magical unicorn who has a family inheritance, or family businesses passed down from generations, you will find that it's hard to receive funding from banks, angel investors and sponsors. You not only have to have a solid, detailed, well-put business plan, but you have to have the strength and energy to put in the work AND money. No one hardly talks about the financial losses you have to make to get to a break-even point and/or see profit. No one freely talks about the investments they have made as they were growing their business. By no one, I mean Instagram influencers and other small business entrepreneurs. If I had to take a guess, I'd say I have spent well over $5,000 in business expenses and investments throughout the course of its existence. Some of those investments include research, education, mentorships, contracting freelances, venue deposits, etc.
However, I've learned so much about running my business, setting up my business properly to receive funding, SEO marketing strategies, business proposal writing, pricing my products & services, pitching to clients, and so much more. Now it's time to turn up and apply my knowledge. Some of you have seen me build my business from the ground up. I know you see the growth and I want to thank you for sticking with me and growing with me. Your support and feedback are very valuable to me.
